Southwark Street Pastors supported the Safe Place project that runs through December at London Bridge station. The team worked alongside the British Transport Police and the station staff to ensure that people coming out of office parties got to their trains safely. Street pastors served tea and biscuits and took time to chat with members of the public.
One of the BTP officers involved with the project has sent this message of thanks:
“I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for supporting the Safe Place project for a second year running. It has definitely made a big difference to helping us support the travelling public in keeping them safe and reassured. I believe we had around 2-3 people in a night and towards the end this rose to around 5-6 I have been told. I know your early interventions took a lot of pressure away from officers which was a great help thank you.”
