The night I met a street pastor: Messages of thanks

Where did you meet street pastors? Exeter

Please could you pass on my sincere thanks the street pastors, who found my son alone in an alleyway on Saturday evening after spending an evening out with his friends. They thankfully called an ambulance for him as he was found ‘fitting’ on the pavement. After hospitalisation it was found that he had substances in his blood which he had not taken voluntarily. This has deeply affected his self-esteem and shocked me as a parent. Without this act of kindness by these wonderful people, both me and his father dread to think what could have happened to him. Once again we cannot thank them enough and realise they voluntarily give up their own time to care and support others, which is indeed a valuable and wonderful service to offer. God bless each and every one of them. Thank you very much once again. Anon.

Where did you meet street pastors? Leicester

On Saturday 10 January I went out to Leicester with three friends, after a meal and quite a few drinks, my friend started to become ill. We then called for a lift home, but my friend had started to throw up. Shortly after a pair of street pastors came to ask if there was anything they could do to assist me in taking care of my friend. They gave her a bottle of water and spent a few minutes making sure that I was ok. I would just like to say to every team that goes out and offers assistance to people who have over done the night out, that you are doing amazing work! I’m sure this can be a very thankless job at times, but it does restore my faith in Christianity. Abbigail

They were very friendly and caring and although I already had a coat they could see I was very cold so they gave me a blanket and drink of water and made sure we were all ok and safe and that I had a lift home. I want to say a huge thank you to these outstanding individuals who give their time to care for people who are merely strangers. It gives me hope that there is still care in the community and people with true caring hearts. These people deserve more appreciation then they get. These people just want to make sure everyone is safe through genuine kindness in their hearts. Andrea

I don’t remember last night, but I woke up this morning with some Street Pastors flip flops, so I just want to say thank you for helping me. Hannagh
