The Street Pastors network joins together in a week of prayer

Oct 19, 2015 | Prayer, What's happening?

“We want God’s best for our town and cities”

If you are part of the Street Pastors network in any way – as a volunteer, a prayer pastor, or through a church that supports your local team – you are invited to join in with a national week of prayer, 24-31 October 2015.

The week of prayer is being led by our national prayer coordinator, Wendy Thomas, who will be linking towns and cities together as she embarks on a ‘prayer drive’ from John O’Groats to Land’s End during the week of prayer.

We would love as many of you as possible to join in by praying – on your own or with others, in an ad hoc way or at an organised event, wherever you live in the UK or beyond.

Why is the Street Pastors network leading prayer for UK towns and cities?

The Bible gives us a pattern for how to pray and what to pray for – it’s called the Lord’s Prayer. In this prayer Jesus prayed for God’s kingdom to come and God’s will to be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

We have a part to play in this! In God’s strength we can work to bring God’s plans into being in the places where we live. As Christians we believe that we can build up and bless our communities, and the national prayer week is a time to rededicate ourselves to this responsibility.

24/7 prayer – can you be part of it?

We would love all of our Street Pastors teams and those who pray for them to join us in filling the week with prayer. This is an open invitation! Encourage others to join you! Contact your team! Corner your coordinator!

Watch out for Wendy!

Wendy and her husband Colin in their trusty red Mazda will be meeting as many street pastors as possible during the ‘prayer drive’ and spending time in prayer and worship with them.

Their route from John O’Groats to Land’s End will take in Southend, Kingsteignton (Devon), Land’s End, Queen Camel (Somerset), Telford, Fife, Inverness, John O’Groats and Edinburgh.

You can use the form on this website’s Pray page to get in contact with Wendy to let her know when you will be praying.
