Isle of Wight awards recognise those who help to keep the island safe

Nov 2, 2015 | Awards

The Isle of Wight Street and School Pastor schemes, including co-ordinators Denise Evans and Rebecca Kelly and the schemes’ trustees, were awarded for their efforts at an Isle of Wight award ceremony.

The awards were presented by Hampshire Constabulary chief constable Andy Marsh, Isle of Wight police commander Supt Sarah Jackson, Lord Lieutenant Maj Gen Martin White and High Sheriff Ron Holland.

The Isle of Wight County Press reported that “school pastors help to reduce bullying and give support to vulnerable students, while street pastors work to help make the streets safer at night, defusing violent situations, preventing fights and looking out for vulnerable people.”

Well done to all of you!
