About Street Pastors

Street Pastors are Volunteers from different churches who care about the safety and wellbeing of their community. We come in all shapes and sizes and are known for being a peaceful and practical help on the night time streets and a caring, listening and helpful presence in our communities. We are an approachable and non-judgemental team looking after anyone who is in need of support, uniquely identifiable by our uniforms, our caps and our bags.

A heart felt Congratulations to Reading Street Pastors who celebrate 17 years of Caring, Listening and Helping. The event included with commissioning new Street Pastors & First Stop volunteers and looking back over the last year at the amazing work of the 98 volunteers who just never stop giving, they are just the best. Also their Rail Pastors team serving 10 years on the rail network. Thank you to Greyfriars Church Reading for hosting the event and the wonderful guest including the Mayor of Reading.
