Yesterday Evening we were delighted to do our first ever Kent Rail Pastors Patrol in Partnership with Southeastern Rail Network. We started at Dover Priory and visited a few stations. We had a nice introduction with commuters and Rail Staff who was really happy to see us. Rail Pastors are volunteers who patrol train stations and trains, offering a reassuring presence and assistance to vulnerable passengers. They are trained Street Pastors with a mission to Care, Listen and Help anyone they meet. Rail Pastors engage with both passengers and station staff, fostering a sense of community and support. In essence, Rail Pastors are a valuable addition to the railway environment, contributing to a safer and more supportive experience for all passengers. Thank you to all our new Rail Pastors that have come from all Kent Street Pastors teams, Bromley and Orpington. If you are a trained Street or Prayer Pastor from Kent and want to join our new team, please email kent@railpastors.org.uk. A massive thank you to Southeastern Rail Network and all our Street & Prayer Pastors. Street Pastors
What a great time celebrating Portsmouth Street Pastors earlier this week! Congratulations to all those who were commissioned, welcome to the family 🙌🙏🫶We had a FANTASTIC night this week at the commissioning of our newest Street and School Pastors! The evening hosted by St Luke’s Church included the brilliant Spinnaker Choir, speakers including Portsmouth Lord Mayor Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Councillor Chris Attwell, and Police Chief Inspector Sarah Nicholson, as well as a statement from a very busy Stephen Morgan MP.We enjoyed an excellent gospel message shared by the Ascension Trust’s very own Bejoy Pal - a graduate of our University and a member of St Luke’s while in the city - a real full circle moment! But perhaps the real highlight was the commissioning of such a diverse group of Christians.Young and not so young, from near and far, students, workers, and retirees; each of these volunteers from across different churches and congregations in Portsmouth have committed to serving in our night time economy and schools, bringing the compassion of Jesus to Portsmouth where it is needed! As the Bible says: “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬Contact us now for more information on how to become part of our team on the streets - portsmouth@streetpastors.org.uk ...
