Here’s a round up of local press coverage about what Street Pastors teams are doing and the difference they are making to towns and cities around the UK.

 

Exeter Street Pastors

Exeter Street Pastors are a comforting presence in the city centre on Friday and Saturday nights. The church volunteers share their faith by helping drunk and vulnerable people on the streets. Echo reporter Adam Walmesley went on a night out to find out about the group’s vital role in the city.

Cheltenham Street Pastors

Cheltenham’s Street Pastors teams will be on patrol during the Cheltenham Races Festival, to care for, listen to and help racegoers during busy periods.

New recruits have joined Street Pastors in Levenmouth

Volunteers from Fife’s four Street Pastors groups gathered with the local congregation at Leven Baptist Church to see the commissioning of 11 new street pastors for the town.

Reading Street Pastors and Canterbury Street Pastors have also welcomed new recruits to their teams.

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire, Paddy Tipping, was out on the streets of Newark on Saturday night, seeing the work of local officers and street pastors.

Prayer Pastors national gathering in Birmingham

At the end of the month those who provide prayer support for their local Street Pastors team (known as prayer pastors) will be gathering together in Birmingham. The 2-day event will be a time of envisioning and friendship for prayer pastors from all over the UK.
