About Street Pastors

Street Pastors are Volunteers from different churches who care about the safety and wellbeing of their community. We come in all shapes and sizes and are known for being a peaceful and practical help on the night time streets and a caring, listening and helpful presence in our communities. We are an approachable and non-judgemental team looking after anyone who is in need of support, uniquely identifiable by our uniforms, our caps and our bags.

It was a real privilege for Chris Jewell, as CEO of Street Pastors in Scotland to commission 7 new Street Pastors as Dumfries and Galloway Street Pastors was officially launched in the River of Life at St Maryโ€™s church in Dumfries recently. Those present supporting the occasion were Fiona Armstrong, Lady MacGregor, the Lord Lieutenant of Dumfries, Rev Rosie Frew, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, Chief Inspector Duncan Cameron, a representative of the local Council and many from our existing Borders Street Pastor initiative.Chris said โ€œI am so happy to see this group established, and with their fist patrol coming on 19th December they will make a real ongoing difference to the Dumfries community.โ€ Welcome to the familyโ€.Ephesians 3:17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
