Reponse Pastors Initial Training Day

We held the first initial training course for Response Pastors in September 2014 and since that time we have had many enquiries from others wanting to join the team. Therefore we are holding the second Initial Training day for Response Pastors.

on Saturday 17 January 2015

9.15 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

location in central London (to be confirmed).

Please see the Response Pastors page on this site for more details about the way that Response Pastors is evolving.

The skills and experiences established in the Street Pastors initiative have contributed to this success of our ministry and it is with that in mind that Ascension Trust is meeting a further need in our communities through Response Pastors.

When a disaster or crisis occurs it almost always affects all areas of communities in some way or another. That might mean the friends and family of someone who has been tragically injured, or those who have been directly or indirectly involved in an incident; it may also mean members of the emergency services who are also affected by a crisis of incident or the circumstances surrounding it.

Unfortunately these incidents occur too often and it is those instances that have been identified as areas that have an emotional or physical support need that could be met by having trained ‘Response Pastors’.

Response Pastors are not first or second responders. They will deploy outside of any incident cordons or centres; they do not have an operational role in the disaster or crisis. We have established relationships with the Metropolitan Police, the London Mayor’s Office Emergency Planning Groups, ‘London Faith Resilience Group’ and many others to ensure we meet the appropriate community needs.

Interested street pastors who are interested in joining the team and would like to attend the training (before making a commitment to join) please contact the Response Pastors Coordinator via the contact box below.
